THE Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, is dead.
He was killed in a freak accident in Cairns, police sources said today.It is understood he was killed by a stingray barb that went through his chest.
He was swimming off the Low Isles at Port Douglas filming an underwater documentary when the tragedy occured. Irwin's body is being flown to Cairns.
Irwin - known worldwide as the Crocodile Hunter - is famous for his enthusiasm for wildlife and his catchcry "Crikey!".
Tributes have already started pouring in for the larger-than-life character.
"It would be difficult to estimate how much he was worth. And it would be difficult to underestimate."
Steve Irwin is a national hero who has won the hearts of all Aussies!

i feel bad for some reason....i though he was a bit of a goose but a nice fella, slightly crazy....feel the worst for his kids though
only 1 person has ever died from a sting ray attack, steve is the 2nd!
also he would of survived if it got him anywhere else, what gives????
